Context: Poster found in the art building, advertising an upcoming lecture from visiting curator Lindsay Howard
Potential Relevance For The Future: This poster is outlining a talk by Lindsay Howard, a New York-based curator primarily exploring/concentrating on net art and its effects on contemporary art and culture. This lecture in particular is interesting given Howard’s role as curator, which I think offers a unique perspective into the politics of the art world as she works with art/artists as her practice, as opposed to making works physically, by her own hand. I think attending events by visiting artists is a really great opportunity to experience art/larger culture through an academic lens, kind of a unique privilege through attendance of this college/schools like Oberlin, which is important given the insular nature of this campus/individuality of art education here.
